Go where no visitor has gone before—along the back-country trails of the Wild Animal Park astride a sturdy mule! The Wilderness Ridge Mule Ride takes small groups (up to 10 riders) on a guided trek through the edge of San Diego’s wilderness, a habitat with more endangered species than any other single county in the United States.
As a gentle, sure-footed mule carries you on mildly rugged terrain, a knowledgeable guide shares information about the animals and plant life along the route. Black rhinos and various antelope species can be seen at the start of the tour before you head “off the map” into the Park’s coastal sage scrub habitat, home to numerous native critters. There are opportunities to enjoy panoramic views of the Wild Animal Park and surrounding San Pasqual Valley. Tours depart daily. Please call to check availability.
